Tidings from Bethlehem-June 2026

A word from our Associate Pastor

                                                                        June, 2026

Dear friends in Christ,

Blessings this June! June means ma

ny things for our community.  Remember that worship times have shifted to our Summer Schedule: Saturday 6 pm, Sunday 8 am and 9:30 am. Our summer Bible Study will feature a look at And look! We Live! by Bishop Emeritus Kurt Kusserow. We’ll host our First Monday Community Meal. Committees will meet. Members  of our congregation will attend SWPA Synod Assembly. Volunteers will be preparing for Vacation Bible School. The work of the church continues throughout the summer.

For you, several important things may be going on in your life. School will be on summer break for our kids and families. You may be anticipating a vacation or trip. Perhaps you’ll be tending a garden or doing a project at home. We’ll see sunshine, rain, and rising temperatures. Whether it’s relaxing moments or grand adventures, I pray for a safe, fulfilling summer for you.

Take this scripture and prayer with you as we embark on the summer season:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight. In all your ways acknowledge God, and God will make straight your paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

What should we pack as we begin our journey?

What should we bring along?

The word of God to illumine our path.

The light of Christ to show us the way.

The gifts of the Spirit to share with those we meet.

The love of God to be our compass and guide.

Let us pray.

God of our salvation,

you are the source of all our beginnings.

As we plan for our journeys,

strengthen us through your word.

Orient our lives toward Christ,

the bright Morning Star.

Send your Holy Spirit as our companion along the way.

In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

(Taken from Travel, Trips, and Journeys. From Sundays and Seasons.)

Peace,

Pastor Ellen

We believe that a disciple is a student of Christ and a helper in Christ's redemptive and life-giving work. We strive to make disciples by sharing the message of Christ, by providing opportunities to come to a deeper understanding of God's word, and by empowering others to serve in ways that are in harmony with God's vision.
